  • “In December of 2023 I had colorectal surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. I had over twelve inches of stitches in my abdomen and three surgical drains attached to my pelvis. A close friend and mentor, who had already faced a double mastectomy due to cancer, had warned me beforehand about the drains after surgery. What I was not prepared for was where the drains were located. The hospital had to safety pin the drains to my itchy, one size fits all hospital gown. I then had to walk around the hospital floor with a walker. With each step the drains would bounce and pull on the stitches holding them in place. REST LOUNGEWEAR’s boyshorts would have provided me with a way to carry the drains securely and comfortably.”

  • “After my double mastectomy and reconstruction in 2021, I would have appreciated REST LOUNGEWEAR’s products immensely. Following my surgery I was given a nylon, white, compression bra with Velcro and hook enclosures in the hospital. It was horribly scratchy and uncomfortable. Over that, I wore a long, matronly, bathrobe type garment that had pockets to hold the drains. It was ugly and ill fitting. I wore those garments exclusively for what were some of the hardest weeks of my life. If I had access to comfortable, functional and oh my gosh, fashionable and dignifying clothes to wear, I can’t imagine how much better my experience may have been. I’m not sure why, but l don’t think it even crossed my mind that I was worth something luxurious, smooth, comfortable and cute during that time. Goodness, every single woman is worth this. Perhaps especially cancer survivors. Thank you for seeing me REST LOUNGEWEAR.“
